The UK's TV system is going digital.

The process has already started as
TV region by TV region,
the nation gears up for the elimination of old
analogue technology and terrestrial signal input.

By 2012, in a process called digital
switchover, every TV in the country
will require the facility to accept
digital input.

This means that everyone in the UK
will need to ensure that all their
TVs are digital ready.

Television will only be available through a
digital system such as Digital Terrestrial ( Freeview),
Satellite, Cable or Broadband TV.

Communal systems (for communal residential dwellings etc)
will require an IRS. (Integrated Reception System)
